Review on πŸ‘’ Merrell Coldpack Ice+ Moc WP Clog - Women's by Justin Butler

Ice Moc normal width too narrow

I usually wear size 8 normal width American women's shoes. I have very high arches so I sometimes order roomy or 1-2 sizes up just to give my feet enough "blanket room" in the toe area. I also have what some call the "Egyptian foot" shape: the fingertips line up with a smooth slope from thumb to pinky (as opposed to the rounded hill where the second toe is sometimes longer than the thumb) . . Finger). What I'm saying is I'm looking for shoes where the toe box height and width is greater than the length. I had both Merrell Jungle Mocs and Merrell Coldpack Ice Mocks 5 years ago. Both were a women's size 8.5 in the US and had enough room for my toes and to fit a lightweight, adjustable arch insert (the arch support was dubbed the "Shoe Chair" FYI). The fit was so good and the Ice Mocs kept my feet from slipping while walking my dog through the hilly streets in the rain and ice. No longer. I agree with other reviewers that Merrell must have redesigned their Ice Moc because the current version is too narrow. I ordered cinnamon brown in US women's size 9 (large and half sizes are not available in cinnamon). Well the size 9 didn't make up for what it didn't have. My pinky fingers were pressed tightly against the sides and top of the finger box, but there was little room at the very front of the finger box. The sides of the shoes were also tight. Despite the good fit, my heel kept slipping out of the heel cup while walking (probably because I ordered a size too long for me). Of course I will send these shoes back. Too bad. For other women who want to buy this shoe, I recommend going up a half or 1 size. More importantly, if you usually wear standard width shoes, I recommend buying a wide one. Merrell needs to go back to his old Ice Moc design.
