Review on πŸ”Œ WiFi Ceiling Fan Switch and Light Remote Control Kit, Smart Fan Controller Compatible with Alexa and Google, Phone APP Control, No Hub Required, Universal Fan Light Remote Control by Ronald Bleimeyer

This receiver had a buzz, not just a beep.

I have used this on a Hunter brand ceiling fan. I originally had a Hunter receiver on this fan that only worked with the remote control. I wanted to add Alexa so I tried this product. Here are my concerns and why I gave it 1 star.1. When you set the fan to low with Alexa or the remote, the fan seems to jump to a higher speed and then slow down to low. At the same time, it makes a buzzing noise. Big problem if it's good for the fan motor. The Hunter receiver and remote just put it on low, no accelerating and decelerating with a buzz. 2. When the fan runs at medium or high speed, the hum never stops. What I liked most about this fan is how quiet it is, this receiver completely spoils the whole experience and generally renders it unusable.3. I really liked the Alexa integration, although it was another sign-in to another Alexa linked app with a different account that needed maintenance. Customer support is not helpful. As an experienced ceiling fan installer I was stopped when their only suggestion was to make sure the fan was in the up position and not just tell me I have a faulty unit or to be honest that the unit is that way is working. I've only used this on one fan of the Hunter brand so it might work for others as well. It is understood that the device has not been thoroughly tested on other brands and the seller claims to have no proof. Sad because it seemed like the cheapest option with or without a hub, but I think you get what you pay for.
