Review on πŸ”’ Bestop 4292201 HighRock 4x4 Receiver Hitch Insert with Shackle: Unparalleled Versatility and Durability by Scott Rodriguez

Revainrating 3 out of 5

This salvage hitch has both positive and negative sides.

This recovery hitch has advantages and disadvantages. First the pros. The insert is a solid piece of rod instead of a hollow square tube. The insert is covered with a beautiful black powder coating (this is also a minus, read on). The D-Bracket is zinc plated to prevent corrosion and looks great. The insert is quite short, which prevents a long overhang. The whole piece is quite massive and looks very nice on the vehicle. negatives. In fact, there is only one minus, but it is quite significant. I have a factory clutch on my jeep. I tow my boat a lot and have never had a tow hitch problem. When I put the insert in, I found that the powder coating made it oversized and an awkward fit. I inserted the insert by kicking him. I was able to insert a pin to make it work, but I couldn't manually remove the insert. After removing the insert, I completely wiped the powder coating off. I sandblasted it and painted it black. Now it looks fantastic and fits. Actually I wanted to give full 5 stars. Unfortunately, fitting in the hitch is incredibly important. This should be plug and play and shouldn't require that much work. At the same time, the price is reasonable and I have nothing against the project. If you are like me this is a good buy.
