Huion has established itself as a good drawing tablet manufacturer over the years. It has a good list of options for both beginners and pros. They've been making some good strides and gaining momentum in the tablet market lately, and I don't think they're going to stop anytime soon. With that in mind, I would like to introduce you to the Inspiroy Q11K. One of huion's wireless pen tablets. Let's see if it's worth buying. Design: The tablet is slim, light and the build quality is good enough for a drawing tablet for the price. It's made of black hard plastic and its dotted texture separates the work area from the bezels. It has 4 rubber feet to keep the tablet from sliding on the table while working. The Q11k has 8 function keys that you can assign as you wish via the driver. It comes with a pen, a stand similar to the Intuos 4 and 5 cups, and 8 extra tips. Specifications: Tablet dimensions: length 15.35 inches, width 8.78 inches and height 0.43 inches. The work area is 11 inches long and 6.87 inches wide. It is definitely a portable, thin and light tablet. It features 8192 pressure levels, so will appeal to those used to a lighter initial activation strength. It is also a wireless device. If you don't want to hang your tablet from a cable, you can use the USB receiver that is also included. tablet for drawing. Not sure about pen displays at the moment. If your computer has a CD/DVD/BR drive, you can simply install the driver from the CD that came with it. It's also a good idea to check their website for the latest drivers. After installing the driver software, you can set up your tablet yourself. You can also change the orientation if you want the function keys to be on the left or right side of the tablet. Work: I've been using the tablet for almost 2 weeks and the more I use it, the more convenient it becomes for me to work with it. When I first got it I thought it was too smooth and too slow for my liking. I have an Intuos 5 Pro and the workspace is only 8 inches long and 6 inches wide, so I'm not very comfortable with the wider area. The driver helped me by adjusting the size of the active work area and everything was great and fast. I use wireless most of the time just to see if the tablet has any noticeable lag from input to display, and so far I haven't seen anything at all. It works smoothly and as intended and I can take my tablet anywhere. As long as it is within range of the recipient. The texture isn't as grainy as Wacom's, it's actually smooth. I don't mind, but it may or may not be a reason to buy or not to buy for some customers. I use a tablet for vector work and some drawings. I've also used it for animations, so it's a pretty versatile product. I didn't fully use up the battery as Huion mentions that it's rated for around 40 hours. The stylus has a battery and will need to be charged from time to time, but it depends on how often you will be using it. It also doesn't support tilt, which is a shame, but I hope Huion is working on new models that will support tilt soon. Final Thoughts: If you are looking for a basic drawing tablet, this is your device. There really isn't anything special that could keep you away from this tablet other than the other Huion tablet options available. Some a little more expensive, some cheaper. More specifically, this tablet is currently priced at $109-$119 at Revain, with the price of the next competing Wacom tablet on the site being sold at $299 (usually $399). So it really comes down to brand and size preference. If you have money, you can buy something you know to be reliable. But if you're on a budget, reconsider the W and consider the Huion. It's cheap, reliable and they have good customer service. (At least from the US and from my experience.) As for me, I've replaced my Wacom Intuos and will keep it as a backup, and for now this Q11k will be my permanent portable pen tablet.
