I had other scratching posts and was disappointed. After a few days they fall into shreds and usually need catnip to be noticed by the cat. It's amazing, our cat loves it without the catnip! Inside is a ball that my little one likes to push the kitten back and forth. I particularly like the fact that this ball doesn't break. We've had it for a few weeks and it's still working! I would consider the investment worth it. My toddler loved it too, it's still as strong as ours. So if you are looking for a durable cat scratching post, this is the one for you.
