It is wonderful! - Cats

I've watched almost every YouTube video about the scaler to see how it works and whether or not it actually works. After that I was 95% sure of the functionality of the scaler; However, I was concerned about whether or not I could use it in videos like the pros. I bought the scaler anyway just to try it out as both of my dogs are turning 12 this summer and we have decided not to take them anymore. brushing their teeth because they are taking longer to recover from the anesthesia than before. Also, our vet suddenly started telling us that 1 dog had heart problems under anesthesia and so on. Remember, I brush my dogs' teeth religiously, I mean "religiously" = once a day! now and at least 3-4 times a week when chewing raw skin or other types of bones but I have found that my Siberian Husky has poor genetics. His teeth suck compared to my Lab Malamute mix no matter what I try. It has a more acidic growth and some have black borders near the gum line. BAD news for me. The scaler is finally here. First, as suggested in the video, place a cotton swab or whatever around the tooth you are working on to prevent the scaler from accidentally slipping off and cutting your dog's gums. This scaler is hot! Newer/softer tarter, I have no problem removing it. I have problems with hardened tarter. Also, I'm scared of cutting my husky's gums. So I gave the scaler to my husband. He fiddled with it for a while and it wasn't working and we were like, 'Great, what do we do now?' Then all of a sudden it all went to tissue paper. It was wonderful! Final thoughts on the scaler: ** This scaler works, but it's not easy. You have to have a lot of patience. You also need a dog that will cooperate with you by opening its mouth. I'm amazed my husky agreed to do this for me because we thought he wouldn't. ** Always disinfect your scaler before using it. Nobody mentioned it in the video but I think it's necessary. I use Listerine as a disinfectant.** Always work in a comfortable, bright area or in daylight. If your dog is impatient, work on a tooth or two and then stop. ** Brush your teeth after picking them. ** There will be areas that you cannot reach. I highly recommend this tool along with dog teeth cleaning.
