A few years ago we gave up paper towels and used these instead. At first I used tea towels or hand towels from thrift stores, but soon found they were too big. This is my second purchase of these towels. My first set is still in use but can wear out due to normal wear and tear and hundreds of wash cycles. When you first get them, you should wash and dry them at least 3 times to control lint. After that, you'll notice that they get softer and better at absorbing moisture with every wash. They are very durable and should last us four to five years of use, although some will need to go to the workshop for hooks etc. They then have a second life before they finally break down. All in all, this is one of the best value for money purchases I've ever made.
