Review on Wire Style New Jewelry Designs by Carol Miller

CD makes it better

I am a medium sized jewelry manufacturer. Although I have many books on wire jewelry, I still like to get more books just for inspiration and to discover new techniques. I saw good reviews so thought this would make a great addition to my collection. Unfortunately it isn't. I would describe some of the designs as unnecessary embellishments. Not necessarily terrible, but just not worth the time. I found a few items that I had never seen before, but I didn't always like the way they were presented. I'm not a jewelry snob. I love quirky styles and unexpected elements, but I still want them to look like you put in a little effort, even if they are simple. In my opinion, simplicity should be impeccable and everything else should have an individual approach. I would give 3 stars but this is a good book for beginners. All the basic techniques are covered, and the included CD offers a unique bonus not found in most books. I would say it's pretty good. The good outweighs the bad. I used it for inspiration rather than a design I wanted to copy. and the included CD offers a unique bonus not found in most books. I would say it's pretty good. The good outweighs the bad.
