The band around the neck is sewn into the seam at the back - unusable.
The tie is sewn on the back of the "towel". The only way to use it is to rip some of the stitching in a few places - untie the ties - and sew again. Not worth the hassle! The material is heavy and appears to be what the scientist needs. It would probably be very hot to wear - I don't know! I like the idea and the size seems good. Too bad there isn't better quality control. It was never meant to leave the factory.
