My 12 year old son and I play together all the time and we have a great time. My husband and I also played with three players but he got upset because he was the slowest player and always lost. He's a good athlete, but he doesn't enjoy it. I don't think the number of players is as important as making sure the people playing are at roughly the same speed. The only problem I have with this game is the very poor quality of the cards. Due to the amount of shuffling and card hitting required to play, cards become unusable very quickly. We've only had the game for a few months and the cards are difficult to shuffle as they stick together very much. In comparison, my family is passionate about board games and taking care of the components (especially including the cards) is a must in our home. I understand and appreciate the need to lower the price and I don't expect this type of game to have the best cards. But due to the rough handling that the Dutch Blitz requires, it would have been nice to have at least a bike-quality deck. In its current form, it will have to be replaced after a few months. I'd rather pay more for decent quality than pay twice as much for bad quality in the future.
