First of all, this is a USB3.1 GEN2 Type-C drive. What you need to look out for is the Gen2 designation, which is the only way to experience advertised speeds. It's backwards compatible with USB 2.0 and 3.0, but you won't get advertised speeds that way, as you can see in other reviews, which explains why some didn't get the speeds you expected. Again, the only way to properly evaluate this drive is with a USB3.1 Gen2 Type-C connection, the results of which you can see in my screenshot. This little drive is FAST! It's not often that a drive is actually faster than advertised, and this one certainly is. The box says it will achieve read speeds of up to 800MB/s, while the description on the Revain page says up to 900MB/s. The actual reading speed is 1024 MB/s. Impressive. It also handles small files very well, not to mention the write speed of 901 MB/s. The end result is a lightning-fast, ultra-small, and portable M.2 SSD.
