Ok, first of all, this bag gets a solid 4.7 out of 5 stars. I knocked it .1 to .2 star for some small things. First the good:1) The strap is seat belt material, but the finest I have ever seen. very tight weave and silky smooth. I have a Mercedes S-class and this thing has better seatbelts than my car (not as big of course.)2) The zippers have full covers. I very rarely see this design, but MAN was I impressed with this. See the pics. When the zipper is closed, you can NOT see the zipper at all. That is true attention to detail.3) The interior broad side padding is about as good as it gets for protection. The bumps add extra protection in addition to standard padding. Now the nitpicks:1) The bottom padding doesn't go all the way to the center. See the pics for what I am talking about. Now, this setup is probably fine for a thicker 13" laptop, but I bought an Acer S7, one of the very thinnest laptops you can buy. This is on par with a Macbook air. While my laptop does fit snugly in that groove at the bottom, I don't think it is supposed to. I did put the bag down kind of hard on a table and definitely heard the laptop hit pretty hard as there is only the outer and inner layer of fabric protecting the laptop. This is fine for anything but a drop, but a good drop onto concrete directly on the bottom of the bag could easily damage an ultra-thin laptop. I would have paid an extra $2 to get the extra padding at the bottom. But fortunately, this is an easy fix. I will probably just roll up a piece of old tee shirt, tie off the ends and glue it into the bottom and add the padding that way. If this was not fixable, I would have knocked this a full star. This was a major oversight in the design. But again, this applies to only the very thinnest laptops. If you have a thicker one, you should be fine.2) The front zipper pouch is not quite big enough. I knocked it another .2 star for the fact that the front zipper pouch could (and should) have been nearly the full width of the bag. They might have done this for aesthetics or cost reasons (which I understand), but the pouch could have been a full 2" wider. That is a lot considering the front pouch is 11" at the outside as is. It is big enough for my charger, which is about the smallest charger for a windows laptop you can get. A full-sized laptop charger would leave little extra room in the pouch for something like a mouse. Again, I would have paid another $2-3 for a bigger front pouch. Maybe a "plus" version? It does have an additional back pouch for a thin-to-medium book or USB number pad if you use those. In conclusion, I don't think you could find a better laptop bag without spending at least 4x as much. If not for the very small nitpicks, this would be an absolutely perfect laptop bag. Asking perfection is a lot these days. But taking the price into consideration, this is my go-to laptop bag, period.
