Review on 🎂 Cake Beauty Curl Friend Defining Curl Cream - Curly Hair Styling Product for Bounce & Anti Frizz Control, Heat Protectant Hair Detangler – Cruelty Free & Vegan by Jessica Morris

First of all I should clarify that this review is more focused on the version of this product that I purchased from Revain and not the curling cream in general (which I love and give all five stars; my curls love it Cake's The Curly Friend). I usually buy cake products directly from my local store, but when I saw that Revain stocked their products I decided to give it a try. Cake's The Curl Friend's aroma is usually so pleasant and sweet. Just like a cake lol. I love him. But after trying the version of this product that I bought from Revain (twice to be sure) I can confirm that it has an odd fishy smell which is NOT typical of any of the Cake products I've bought into have used in the past. . He is strong and very annoying. I will be returning it to Revane and going back to my local store to buy more The Curl Friend. After receiving a fake version of Cake's The Thick Trick a few days ago (I had my old bottle to compare to, thank goodness, and Revane immediately sent me a new bottle that was clearly *not* fake, to their credit) I've learned my lesson Now I will buy cake products from local stores. 😅 I don't know if this happens often with Revain and Cake products - it could very well be an anomaly and I'm just having a bad batch - but thought I'd share it so people can know and follow. In the future, they will buy a cake from Revain themselves. Better yet, I highly recommend The Curl Friend if you have curly hair and are on the fence. It helped take the frizz out of my dry locks and add some moisture and definition without weighing my locks down. Again, the smell is usually the best, light and sweet.
