Review on AIYIMA T8 Preamplifier Bluetooth Headphone by Billy Mariner

Revainrating 5 out of 5

If you are looking for a cheap tube preamp, DAC, multiple inputs and a remote control. Look no further.

I wanted to try a tube preamp and saw it, so I decided to try it. I wanted USB and optical input options with Bluetooth. I use it for my desktop setup in combination with the Aiyima A07 to drive bookshelf speakers. I connected it to my Windows 10 PC via USB, plug and play, no need to install drivers. The remote control is simple and works. Incidentally, the handset on and handset off buttons on the remote control are deactivated. The button on the device is a rotary encoder, i.e. graduated, which suits me. It can only turn the device on and off, control the volume and select the input. You must use the remote control to mute the sound, adjust the treble and bass, and turn the display on and off. Pairing with my phone was easy. It was recognized immediately and supports aptX. The headphone jack has a diameter of 3.5 mm. So keep that in mind if you have a 6.35mm jack. It switches the outputs instantly and as soon as you plug in your headphones. According to the instructions, it works with headphones from 16 - 300 ohms. I'm very happy with how it sounds. I use C-Notes so it's a very budget friendly setup. With expensive speakers and an amp I could be a little choosier but for what I have it works well. As a result, the headphones sound great and deliver plenty of power. I can't think of any cons, for the price you really can't complain. Build quality is solid, sounds good and has a ton of features for a preamp in this price range. I think if I had problems it wouldn't have rubber feet.

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Long delivery time
