Tried the smaller one first, for about half the price of this one. It didn't register a difference on the hygrometer and collected about 1 ounce of water overnight so I returned this one and got this one. About 1/4 cup of water was collected overnight. None of them affected the hygrometer reading in a 9 x 11 foot room that reached 70% humidity in the morning when I turned the air conditioner down to 63 degrees at night. Today I went to a big hardware store and bought one the size of a small bedside table. It hums about the same as my wall mounted air conditioner or old fashioned box fan and went from 65% to 45% humidity in 2 hours collecting about half a cup of water in that time with the adjustable fan (3) set to low . It costs twice as much as this one and I wish there was something smaller and less expensive but there just isn't!
