Nice remote switch with Google and Alexa support via Smart Life

Works well but is a bit noisy when turning the relays on or off. never mind There's a single power button on the front for all-on or all-off mode, and to control individual ports on the switch you'll need to use the Smart Life (or Tuya) app or manage it with Alexa. I like it dark in my bedroom, so the light blue LED ring around the power button on the front is obscured. There is an LED for each port that tells you which output is on. I don't think Alexa will tell you which ones are enabled, but the Google Home integration will. You provide a device name and then name individual switch ports to control them individually. Some of them were SHORT, too short to be plugged into a UPS, and were also placed on the back of my desk. There was no way to secure the box like keyholes on the back or double sided tape. I plan to use velcro to attach it to the back of the table. So my biggest complaints are the LED lights and the noisy relays, so not a huge complaint. After a few months of use, I wish there was an option to leave the USB charging ports enabled while disabling other ports on the switch. All USB ports are on or off, and if you disable all but the USB ports using the app, the blue LED ring will remain lit. I would prefer the setting to enable active USB ports regardless of the state of the switch.

Pros
  • Fingers crossed
Cons
  • Lots of things
