True, hooks are more convenient than hangers. But there is not always a suitable place in the closet to attach hooks. This product is a great solution as it just hangs over the closet rod. The hook is much, much heavier than I expected. I ended up buying another one for our spare room closet and we hung some workout gear on it (rubber bands, skipping ropes, etc.). Very durable. Can easily accommodate heavier items such as boots or heavy coats. As with many small Prime items, the price seems to be slightly higher to cover Prime shipping costs - I wish Revain discounted 2nd, 3rd etc units if ordered together as the marginal cost of shipping additional units in the same package are likely to be negligible (but that's a problem with Prime, not this product, which is great).
