Review on Lipper International 8189 Bamboo Compartments by Andrew Sticher

I would give this 5 stars except it had a very strong chemical smell when opened. I fixed this easily by wiping it down with a mild detergent (make sure what you're using is bamboo safe!) and letting it air out for a few hours. Now it doesn't smell anymore. There were also some bamboo shavings in there. If you're giving it away, be sure to clean it before giving it away. The bamboo is very pretty and the box is much better quality than I expected for the price (it was on sale for around $20 when I bought it). It is durable, not too thin and closes very well. It's bamboo, so very light, which is good or bad depending on personal perception. I love that it's not obscure or unfussy, just a beautiful, classic and simple functional box. I'm giving it away to a tea lover as soon as I've filled it with tea bags and I'm sure he'll like it. I may end up getting another one to use in place of my oversized tea box at home.
