Review on πŸ’‘ 24-Pack of Philips 100-Watt Clear A19 High Lumen Light Bulbs, Dimmable, 1500 Lumen, Bright White (2990K), 72W=100W, E26 Base by Brian Hood

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Bright, radiates warmth, nice colored light, unreliable performance

Logs entire body life of 24 bulbs. There was one bulb that broke and didn't even work and three that blew out a few days after installation. My guess is these bulbs are on about 45% of the day 4-5 days a week and mostly off the other 2-3 days. The average number of days these bulbs have lasted with the 4 bulbs I consider defective is 58. For halogen bulbs this is below average in my experience, but the below average lifespan is offset by the fact that they have an ideal color temperature , meaning I would buy this brand again rather than looking for an alternative with better economic value. From a distance, these lamps look like traditional incandescent lamps, although the light emitted is whiter and less yellow than incandescent lamps. I really like the color temperature of these bulbs, just under 3000K so they don't emit artificial appearing blue light, nor are they yellow. They give off a certain amount of heat, enough to noticeably raise the temperature in the room my lamp is hanging in with 5 of these lamps. To avoid this, you must either reduce the wattage or switch to LED, which does not look as elegant as halogen. These are bright bulbs, so I can take the heat. They are significantly cooler than incandescent bulbs. I would like to try another brand of similar lamp, something clear, bright and with a similar color temperature, but I haven't found such an alternative.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • No performance
