Good Vacuum Cleaner with Flawed Software and Terrible Customer Service

For a few months this vacuum worked pretty well, although a tiny dust box and buggy software kept it from being great. Sometimes he would skip areas for no apparent reason, sometimes entire rooms. Running it again many times will fix it. It also ignores some settings like suction power level and always uses the default setting even if we've changed it. Despite the app and software, the wipe function worked a little better than expected. The brush tangles hair despite the advertised design which was meant to limit it. In a way, we even liked the Wyze vacuum better. Both had good map results, but the Wyze had its bugs and loading issues (always had trouble docking regardless of floor type or location) and a terrible pet brush with lots of pets. The real problem with Vacmop started earlier. Month. It started on its own and again after I pressed a button to get it to dock. Eventually I turned it off and checked the app to see if there was anything that could explain it, only to find that the vacuum was completely gone from the app, map and all. Assuming a major bug, I added the vacuum back to the app as a new device (it connected as expected) and tried to bring it home. It stayed on the "Connect" screen for a few minutes and then just. Nothing done. Return to the Ready for Map screen. Nothing worked after that. Reset router, power cycle everything, delete vacuum ad nauseam and add new, factory reset, nothing helped. Eventually we called the support team, which of course prompted me to try a lot of what I had already done but to no avail. They "escalated" the issue but the person they wanted to escalate me to didn't respond so I was told they would call me back after the weekend. A rep said it might be on their site and they could reset something, but apparently no one did (of course, I really don't like the idea that if the Shark server goes down or something is wrong with their site, my hoover will be a Door stopper). A week later, after no call, I called back and was told I would have to wait another 3-5 days for a call. I complained and tried to get a manager. The rep said there were no managers but they would call me back within two hours. No call. I called back and was told there was nothing they could do and that I would have to wait for a call (hopefully within "an hour or two"). Surprisingly, no call came! I tried again but they were closed. This is where I am. A vacuum cleaner that connects to a phone app but cannot be controlled by it and inept customer service that may or may not solve my problem. Not recommended (actually stay away). I will update this if anything changes. But even if they manage to solve this problem, I can never recommend this vacuum cleaner or the company. It's a shame as we've been using Shark stands for years and have been lucky with the customer service, last time was a few years ago so obviously things have changed for the worse. Something from their side a few days after I last spoke to a rep, no idea what. The vacuum cleaner responded to the app and (after a bug or two - not uncommon anyway) moved home and cleaning. So it's something. However, the above concerns remain and I cannot recommend this machine. Another note I forgot to mention above is that during one of the previous "escalated" support calls, towards the end of the call, a rep asked for my login credentials - email address and password. I refused and told her I found that unacceptable. Not sure what happened to it.
