A handy gadget in launchers, chargers and portable power supplies

This is a replacement for an extinct Black and Decker inverter. Poorly. I like B&D but need an inverter that works when I need it and Tripp Lite has a solid reputation for quality products. This product is a perfect example of that. As an inverter it works great. Although I haven't pushed it hard yet, it worked fine on my 150 watt computer with no fan noise. BTW I think I saw another review that said this one didn't have a fan. Oh, and never buy an inverter without a fan! The USB ports also worked great. When I turned on the computer, I charged my phone and Kindle with no issues. In fact, my phone charged much faster than using a USB car charger. Unlike the doomed B&D, it has a power button that can be left on. So if you have an ignition controlled cigarette lighter, you can tuck it under the seat and forget about it. about it until you need it. This is what I do when iPhone and Kindle cables are connected for use. I use this when traveling where I may need a portable outlet. On the go I can charge my shaver, laptops, camera batteries, whatever I want. Of course I can charge everything at home before the trip and I used to, but running around the house collecting all my gadgets hoping not to forget anything usually distracts from the trip. . That way, the night before, I throw all my stuff in the car, plug it in, and when I need it, it's ready. It's also handy in an emergency. Shortly after 9/11, power outages occurred across the county. It was in Los Angeles County, so it was a big problem. I used a cheap 300 watt inverter to power my TV and satellite DVR so I could see what was going on. Luckily there was no other connection. But I'm glad I had the opportunity to find out what's going on. Yes, I could use the radio, but for some reason TV news channels like to repeat facts for 12 seconds and show helicopter footage of cars stuck in traffic. On the radio they mention these things once and then they play a lot of music or something. Either way, it's a very handy little gadget. Highly recommended! Highly recommended!
