This is how a cordless drill should be. I've had several of these in my life - this one will probably be the last. It's a bit more expensive than many others, but it's a situation where you get what you pay for. It's high-torque, strong, drills and screws. Reliable. Reviews that say light is useless are absolutely true - light doesn't make work more useful. If I could change something about this thing, I'd have a way to turn off that stupid light. If you're buying a flashlight, this isn't for you. Some people say it's hard. There is a metal gear. This is a solid tool. It weighs what it weighs. It probably SHOULD be heavy - definitely heavier than a bunch of short-lived junk. For the record, I'm a 45-year-old woman with no noticeable upper body strength. I'm happy with what it weighs.
