Converting an old PC to a FreeNAS box and looking for a better solution to keep a spare hard drive in the system instead of just hanging in the PC case. Bought this Orico HDD Bracket (B01LZWX6PD) together with StarTech 3.5 Hot Swap HDD Rack (HSB100SATBK). Installed a hot-swappable rack in the system, put the SSD in the bracket and plugged the whole thing into the PC with no problems. . At first I thought I might run into problems because the mounting bracket is a bit shorter than a "normal" hard drive, but those concerns quickly went away. The installation went pretty smoothly and the PC recognized the Kingston SSD without any problems. I put in the holder. I would have no problem buying this setup again should the need arise. While not strictly necessary, this solution was worth spending a few extra bucks.
