Heavy, high quality industrial chair

This is the chair I sit in for 8 hours every day at work. I admit it's a bit strange to see someone sitting in this chair in front of a computer, but before this chair was "stolen" (from another office) my back used to hurt every day. I sat in another soft, "ergonomic" chair in the office. But what started as a "joke" has now become a permanent part of my desktop. Ever since I switched to this "weird looking" chair, my back pain has gone. The chair is heavier than it looks and requires both hands to lift and move. (I'm a skinny woman.) It's stable and doesn't wobble at all. The back is not adjustable, just stays straight. The height of the chair is raised and lowered by screwing around a thick metal screw that turns easily so there are no "accidental falls" etc. The chair has no padding in the seating area so it's stiff but not very uncomfortable once in a while. They are used to sitting like on a bench. It only has a small round leather surface. I don't know if it's real leather, but the back is padded with the same material and there are a few short "rope" strands coming out of the stitching, which leads me to believe this isn't the case. (We've had this chair for years). The backrest is thin but sufficiently (adequately) padded and supports the back in the ideal place. Finally, there are rubber shoes on the legs to keep the chair from slipping. I would give the chair 5 stars overall, but I deducted one star because the description describes the chair as having a "leather" component that I'm not aware of. I don't think that's true. Otherwise, it's a heavy, sturdy chair that's been in the department for years, and the only wear and tear it shows are the little "strings" coming from the padded stitching on the back.

Pros
  • Diesel Stool with low base and backrest
Cons
  • Equipment Sad
