This seat is a great idea but it's made from inferior materials. We bought this in February for our 3.5 year old and his potty training. It was great and he became interested in the toilet. But by April the hinges were starting to stick, and by July it was basically a one-piece piece – flip the lid down and both seats fit. Good that the manufacturer sent a new one when asked. If the new one lasts until we no longer need it then I will change it to 5 stars as we may have a lemon. If it dies again in 3 months I'll have to downgrade as the toilet seat needs to be made good enough to last a couple of years. Update: Item fell apart completely 9 months after the replacement arrived. There is no metal at all in the hinge. It's a great idea, but it's already been picked up by more established companies. Luckily our little one is already big enough because we have a normal toilet seat.
