Excellent filter for filtering and softening water

I have this 3 stage filter for the whole house. It's been solid from the day I installed it. When I moved to central Florida, I realized almost immediately how harsh and unattractive the city/county water was here. A strong smell of sulfur and showers that dried my skin almost instantly. After a long research, I decided on a 3-stage filter. I did this because I didn't want to deal with salt water every now and then. While not a perfect solution, it's a lot better than what I have and it has an extra step to provide a much cleaner waterborne primer for clothes and utensils that come out cleaner. It's been a year and 2 weeks since I installed it so this time it was just a filter change. The process was simple and straightforward, the cylinders removed were hosed out (not bleach cleaned as the house was newly built since last year when I installed the filters. Some things to look out for: - Removal of the last filter) working first and backwards helped remove the first filter closest to the pipework - leaving the center filter housing in when removing and installing the first filter helped ease access to the first filter (this was only my experience, yours may vary) . - Use LOTS of silicon grease on the rings (so they do their job longer) and on the cylinder threads - When you first turn off the water and remove the cylinders there will be (a lot of) water leakage, plan for that. - A separate water source is needed to clean the cylinders, my neighbors/friends were happy to let me use their hose. - I ended up using a small waterproof silicone hose and a half for lubrication (mine ended up in the lines on Lowes Island) as it doesn't have an aerator to clog with carbon deposits being removed from the system first. protocol
