I wanted to leave a review for this product because I think the reviews should be better than they actually are. The first photo is right after removing it, the second photo is after running my fingers through my hair. The first time I used them they didn't work because I wasn't pulling my hair out with a magic wand but rather trying to fold the curling iron to let the hair through and my hair was distributed unevenly. You didn't curl yourself into the right shape, so follow the directions (pull the crochet hook through your hair while squeezing the end of the curler). If you use a section larger than 1 inch, they won't dry properly either. You want to use all curl shapes. Take a shower when your hair has a lot of oil, it doesn't frizz, it frizzes :-) Pat dry lightly with a towel. Divide your hair into 4 horizontal sections from the base of your head to the crown of your head. Make the base of the head first. If you have 20 curlers, that's 5 curlers per section. Use more curlers if you have more. If you use enough curlers, I think I used 22, will dry your hair in 3 hours (if they are the same thickness as mine). If you test them and remove one every hour, you'll see exactly how long to keep them, which is very useful information :-) Pin all the hair at the top except for the part you're working on. Apply mousse or gel to this section and place 5 or more curl cups on the horizontal section. Once they're dry, as you pull them out, you can grab each individual strand and bobby pin them to your head if you want to sleep on them. It turns out a fantastic curl. I didn't do it in the photo but I tried and it works. I personally can't sleep in it, but with the clip method I can use it on my hair the next day for special occasions or just shower and put it on 3 hours a day. I don't go anywhere to get hair same day. I want my curls to be looser, so I'm planning on getting beachy waves. It's actually interesting to use them a second time. They weren't that much fun the first time around when my sections were too big and I couldn't get it right. The learning curve is steep. I hope this helps people who are on the fence. My best advice is to use them twice before deciding if you like them or not. Because once your head is full of heat-free curls that can never be achieved with a simple braid, what's not to love about it? The inventor of this product is IMHO a genius
