Great weight works for you. Hold the block flush with the floor, inside corner (near the wrist) to the board. Then spin the block by sliding across the black floor and hitting the board. Transferring the weight brings the bar to the previous row. If you do not keep the block in contact with the floor, the block can easily damage part of the blocking edge on the plank being installed.
