When I ordered this unit, Revain first increased the price by $75 from the previous day due to their variable pricing. Not cool. The device itself is well made and looks high quality. The valve is brass, but the finish is actually high quality plastic, although you can't tell from the outside. The handle appears to be metal, but the backplate is definitely plastic. If you are interested in this, be sure to purchase the parts separately as it will save over $100 at the time of writing this article. From Speakman Customer Service: The SM-1400-P is a complete unit including the CPT-1400-P (piping) and CPV-P-DV (diverter valve). I returned this complete unit and only bought the individual parts. I rate this device as "good" based on my first impressions and the fact that the finish isn't all metal.
