SoCal is great with all the sun but it's a double-edged sword in terms of what the sun can do to your skin. I hike and run 57 miles several days per week and the sun can get quite brutal - especially during the summer days. I had some old arm sleeves that my wife had bought for my son who was playing golf but they weren't of high quality and would slide down my arms after a little while during my runs.So, I decided that I need some new ones and tried these based on the reviews and the feature of covering the top of my hands, which also tended to get very dry. They do indeed have a cooling effect and the compression also keeps the arms feeling fresh. I got these in white since it will do a better job of reflecting the sunlight instead of absorbing it. These look good and feel good while doing what they are supposed to do - protect the arms from the sun's harmful UV rays as well as providing better blood circulation. I even keep a pair in the car to wear during the commutes. Very happy with these and I highly recommend them for outdoor activities in sunny weather.
