I use these to elevate my aquarium lights and hold them above the fish tank. I was disappointed with how narrow the mounts were. My lamp is at least 3 inches wide so I have 1 wire in the mount and one on the edge. It works but is a bit fragile. I will say that the brackets are attached to the rim at the top. This is a big plus.
