I added this built in fridge and left the line to the reverse osmosis faucet as pure reverse osmosis. This didn't add any noticeable flavor to the water, but it did affect how the water felt in the mouth. it was noticeably softer than when only reverse osmosis water was used; Ice cubes are also less transparent than pure reverse osmosis, but are easier to chew. While we love our reverse osmosis system, I've noticed the negative effects of using water devoid of any minerals. The reverse osmosis water has slowly removed the top layer on the inside of the plastic water tank of our Kuerig coffee machine. I have also noticed that my water thirst has become much more frequent since I started drinking reverse osmosis water and I think my body is craving more minerals. As much as I like to drink tasteless water, I think this filter is a must for every reverse osmosis system. I feel more depressed after drinking it and it doesn't add any unwanted taste. The only downside is that I can't hook it up to my installed reverse osmosis system, so it has to sit on the bottom of the cabinet.
