I bought from 5 to 8 with the idea of either taking a second in the same size or buying a second size depending on the fit. I ordered a second size larger. Size 5 to 8 was great for an almost 6 year old but too small for my eldest daughter. Both girls wear a size 6 and a size 8 in most pants.
