First of all I am a female and a nurse. I had surgery last year for refractory plantar fasciitis. I'm definitely not 100% and my surgical leg swells up every day. Before the surgery I wore Hoka One One but now they don't work up to the ankles. I wear alegria (grandmother's shoes) when I have to *dress up*, but I wanted something for the outdoors too. LOVE THIS, easy to use. Flat surfaces 3-6 miles/day. But also great hikes. I've been known to twist my ankles, especially after surgery, but this keeps my foot stable.
