Review on π§ Dorman 905-512 Steering Shaft Bearing for Compatible Models by Gaurav Ansong
Do not buy from spares
Thought I would change my stock as it was a bit noisy. Nothing wrong. While there I installed a Dorman bearing and countershaft. The native shaft was still in good condition, but was still modified. The next day the noise was terrible. Even after 13 years, the original bearing wasn't that bad. I tried to fix it with a clamp, it didn't work. Finally, after a month, I ordered and installed a GM bearing. I installed my own intermediate shaft. That fixed everything. Nice and calm. The Dorman bearing has a lot of play right out of the box.
