Good inexpensive power supply for hobbyists

I've been an electrical engineer for 40 years and disguise myself as a manager. This simple power bank is great for my occasional home renovation or curiosity project. It's fairly simple and requires no actual instructions (which is good because they're minimalist). The display is clear and easy to read. The included cables with alligator clips also work well and are the right set to get started. I've tested it at various voltage ranges and would say it's probably a percentage voltage error, although I think most of that is due to gain errors. That means it could be 25mV at 0V and 100mV at 10V. However, I'll be generous and say that my meter may be contributing. For me, 1% is not at all critical for the built-in voltmeter in such a box. Actually it's pretty good. I simply set the current limit to the middle of the regulator range for this test and did not attempt to measure the current. It has a power indicator, but the current settings are not marked on the power limit button. Once again it's fine for my use and it's as expected for the price. The fit and finish of the accessories are decent and I don't find my EE friends embarrassed to see them on my bench. It is excellent for working with car audio and USB powered devices. Loads fall right into the sweet spot for this box. I'm glad to have a decent PSU.
