I bought this device according to the description of the "gigabit" router. I had 2 TP-Link WiFi routers (works great!) and I have networking experience. I've found the NAT throughput to be pretty far from Gig at 680Mbps, but with my cable modem only at 400 I didn't expect any issues. Upon installation, I was shocked to see that the CPU was tied to a simple speed test, and while it might start at 300 seconds (which isn't good), once this CPU is loaded it was the best speed I've ever seen , 180. I have no idea what happens on a real gigabit connection or a busy network, but based on the specs and my testing, it seems like any speed would be degraded by at least 40% with this built in and only one physically connected device. Called Revain support (great!) who never got through to TP-Link. I called there myself and spoke briefly to someone who didn't have any productive suggestions. I returned the device and bought an A7 to mainly use it as a router. So I really can't knock TP-Link, it's just that this device doesn't know how to work.
