We now have a second Kindle Paperwhite in the household. The original Kindle I bought 13 years ago is still going strong and giving me endless pleasure. The screen backlight on the new Kindle my wife bought means she can read in the shower without worrying about the device getting submerged. Although our dislike for the reader's physical buttons is totally subjective, we found that its spare exterior influenced our final decision. The deciding factors were the earlier Kindle's superior usability and its illuminated screen. With an adaptable backlight, you may read in the dark, in bed, in the park, on the train, or on a long journey. And protect that screen with a case before you go!
