Very sturdy, I'm plus size and stood on it. I was shocked it held my weight with ease. Didn't feel it give at all.My only suggestion is be sure to tell children not to hold onto the side and rock they will squash their fingers. After repeatedly telling my 5 year old to put her hand in front and her not listening she learned.My 10 and 12 yr old also get on it every time they walk by.Very happy with this on these cold rainy days
