Being IP67 waterproof I hung them up at home over Christmas last year and they held up well the 3-4 weeks I used them. I've kept them at my home all year because I can't see them but when I plugged them all back into the controller and power supplies they didn't work properly like there was bad data on the data line and a handful Light never turned on at all. I soldered the whole strip with a new wire; same problem. I installed a new controller and power supply to get them working and they had the exact same issue. I suspect the contacts or chips on the strips will fail after a few months out in the open. Needless to say I have to buy all new strips as none work. The rest of the strips I had worked fine when connected to a controller and power supplies, so it's definitely a strip issue.
