So this steel isn't the most expensive, but it isn't the cheapest either. I would expect a very solid product for $40.The sharpening steel itself functions very well. I've been using it for a couple of weeks and it is definitely doing its job. No issues there.There's nothing about the steel that makes is unuseable, but the handle feels like cheap plastic, and the safety guard would be completely ineffective. Fortunately, i stroke away from my hand, but if you stroke towards your hand, I hope you're accurate.Not a bad buy, not a great buy. I might look harder for a different one at this price point.
