Whoever thought up this atrocity and who could possibly enjoy the vile sound of this function is a total mystery to me. Even in the 4-column mode with the correct spacing, the sounds produced by CMSS are exceedingly repulsive, and this is true even if the listener is aware that some of the sounds are being routed to the back channel to simulate surround sound. And I have no idea what the person who decided to make it the standard was puffing on when they had the idea. Just using four speakers or four speakers and headphones at the same time? No need to spend the money on this. Who would have thought that after 15 years the creative would still be using the same Audigy RX and resetting the settings every time it rebooted? I followed the advice given on the forums, and while it did assist initially, the settings reverted back after around two weeks. Repeating the same steps never works. The car's audio system is a complete eyesore. Thanks for not including echo as standard; this is disgusting garbage and all it does is add echo. There are no equalizer or output controls, and there are no subwoofer cutoffs. Although an external Creative Sound Blaster X G1 is included, we recommend listening with headphones. The driver has a lot of customization options, but I don't see why you couldn't just do the same thing with a more expensive card. When you restart your computer or wake it up from sleep mode, the external one disconnects from the USB port and must be reconnected before you can hear anything again. The driver also disconnects from time to time, claiming there is no device present. There are lots of people having the same issues, so check the message boards. I understand now, and I will not be purchasing any other products from Creative.
