I've had the machine for about a year, I use it a few times a month. The gear that turns the blade broke today. I emailed customer service and received an immediate response that I would receive the replacement part (in 5 weeks). I opened up the machine to prep it for the new part and found the gear was plastic and positioned for easy food entry. Enough food dried up to clog the gearbox and the piece of metal coming out of the motor literally melted the plastic gearbox due to friction. Pros: - it's relatively cheap - does the job - good customer service. Cons: - too much clearance between the moving table and the blade, making it easy for small pieces of food to fall into the crevices - the plastic mount that allows you to safely press food against the blade doesn't reach far enough, so when you arrive at one From a quarter to a half inch thick (of the food to be cut) you have to start with your fingers which is very dangerous - it's quite low quality but worth the price
