The upholstery on my kitchen chairs was dirty and almost impossible to clean. Years ago, I added more foam and reupholstered the seats but picked a lighter fabric that also got dirty. I am a big proponent of fixing and refurbishing, mostly for environmental reasons, tired of our disposable culture of trash and replace. When this item arrived, I actually was going to return it. I just didi not see how the back part would look good on the chairs. But, my husband saw them in the bag and commented he liked the pattern, so I went ahead and tried them and they look great. So, I "unreturned" them. They fit well, are easy to put on and I can take them off to wash them. They will get us a few more years out of our existing dining set, meaning less stuff going into our local landfill and we can spend that money on a night out or something. winner winner chicken dinner.
