I've been looking for something to put under my computer chair on a wooden floor for a long time. I originally thought of making these clear plastic mats for exactly this purpose, but I don't like the look of them and the light bouncing off them. So I ordered this burgundy carpet since my apartment is decorated in burgundy. The chair still rolls on it, but not as freely as on a wooden floor, which suits me perfectly. I'm in an upstairs apartment and my caster chairs were interfering with the downstairs tenant. So this great rug solved two problems at once - protecting the floor and quieter for the renter below me. It's so heavy that I'm sure it will last a very long time. I'm really happy with this purchase.
