Can definitely peel off a layer of skin. They're really rough, but we love them. I had dry skin on my face and was afraid to use it. Finally I used a lot of soap and didn't press at all and it worked great. I only had to do this once and then use a good face lotion and my dry face and acne problems were gone. I now use them for full body scrubs when I shower. I may start using less because of the post-shower sting when I apply cologne, but I'm still happy. I bought 2 walnut napkins for $5 so I'm very happy with the results for the price. I wish I could give more stars!
