I've read several reviews criticizing Gargoyles for their quality compared to the "original" (1980's). I bought them a bit reluctantly but figured I could send them back if they aren't up to date. All low quality reports do not match what I found. The hands are metal with a plastic sock for the ears. It's not bad quality. Try wearing metal headphones. Not comfortable. The mounting points on the lenses are solid, in fact they are molded onto the lens. The arms are attached with a metal bracket. Very durable construction. The nose piece has a metal screw that holds it in place. I have no idea what quality claims. They're better made than the original Terminator style I had decades ago, and in fact I had them in the 80's. They are NOT polarized, and they weren't then either. Let's just say I bought them as a retro feel and primarily for motorcycling. Great for that. Good fit, great retro gargoyle look and surprisingly good build quality. I am very satisfied and if you know what you are getting I would highly recommend them.
