I bought some of these cables to hook up a new set of powered monitors. They should be semi-permanent cables: I won't be winding and unwinding them all the time, and they're unlikely to disconnect even a couple of times. For this particular application, the removal of curvature is quite sufficient and the basic requirement for signal transmission is well met. For on location recording I would probably be willing to shell out more money for heavier cables but wouldn't hesitate to keep a pair of these in my odd mic set. Good value for money.
