Review on DIJA Blue 7 Quart Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven Pot With Lid, Nonstick Round Braiser For Home Baking And Cooking, Includes Side Handles And Mat by Carlos Krueger

Nice Heavy Pot. Loose Handle

I ordered the 7 quart Dutch oven in the blue size. It is a nice sized pot - you can fit a whole uncut chicken in it.The pot is a nice heavy weight and the side handles are robust and solid. You get the benefits of a cast iron pan, but without the need to season or any special care when cleaning. The pot is very easy to clean.I like that the lid has beading on the interior to gather steam. If you have the lid slightly off center of the pot to allow ventilation, it prevents some of the moisture from dropping off the edge of the lid and onto your stove top. There are a couple minor things I noticed about my pot. First, mine has a small imperfections in the finish along the top edge. I included a picture of it with my review. The second thing is that the handle is not molded as part of the lid. It attaches with a screw and the handle on my lid is quite loose and requires periodic tightening.Overall, very nice enameled cast iron.

Pros
  • It has a lid to lock in the moisture and juices, ensuring that your food remains moist and tender during the cooking process
Cons
  • The nonstick coating can wear off with frequent use, requiring additional cooking spray or oil
