I was looking for an inexpensive garland as I am preparing for a wedding. I was a bit hesitant at first as some people said it was flat, sparse etc but decided to give it a try. First, five 6-foot vines for $28 is a pretty good deal. In other stores, this price is only for one. Second, some people have complained about the chemical smell. Three of my five had no odor. The other two were very weak. So if you have a sensitive nose I would recommend airing it out a bit. Otherwise, any smell will quickly dissipate. Third, others complained about their fragility. I didn't think that was true. I found 1-2 sheets that came loose in the packaging but that was to be expected. Even if you buy silk in the store, the leaves or the flowers will be amused. When I unfolded them, shook them, fluffed them up, not a single sheet fell off. I was also concerned that the stems looked a little light green, but in real life they looked pretty real. Another thing I read that other reviewers complain about was that it was sparse, flat and not puffy. It's a little thin, but not terrible. I ended up doubling the vines for a thicker, more lush look. Also, the main stem is stitched, while the smaller stems with leaves are not. I suspect that's why it might be flat. You can only loosen it up by splitting the leaves to the right or left. However, I love that there is a few extra inches of bare wire at the end of the vine so you can easily tie it into your next garland. The first photo is a single vine, the rest are double. If you're looking for a very thick, fluffy vine to wear on your coat, this may not be for you. But if you're just using it to decorate a table or sign at an event, I recommend it. In summary: Pros: good value for money, fairly sturdy and realistic looking, no or minimal smell. Cons: a bit skinny.
